Earthquake Response Plan to Pestel Haiti
On August 14th, 2021, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake hits the southern part of Haiti, killed over 2,200 people with more than 12,200 injured and destroyed about 53,000 homes and more than 77,000 sustained damages. An estimated of 800,000 people need humanitarian assistance. As Church of Jesus Christ, we cannot just sit and watch the suffering of so many people without doing anything. God has put in our heart to help people in Pestel that are in desperate need, as Jesus would do if He were on earth today.
Many homes, churches, and schools have been damaged or rendered dangerous, and those affected are unable to return to them, and in many cases, no structures exist. Residents in Pestel are sleeping outside, and the situation has been made worse by incessant rain. Last Call Haitian Alliance Church wants to bring the hope of Christ to four churches and one hundred families to rebuild their homes, restart their lives and send their children back to school.
Budget: We need to raise $15,000 for construction materials to help one hundred families, four churches, and school supplies for children.
